    Any Camelback users out there?

I used the "Dream" Camelback on my tour, but I'm looking for something a little more sleek. I looked at the company's web site, but are there any road cyclists out there who can give me their opinons (ups/downs) on the type they use? Thanks, gals!

I use the rogue. Love it... Even has a "pump port" pocket for your pump. It's been through two Ironmans, and all the training that comes with an IM...
    Or is that Ironmen...

I use the Rogue too, for road and dirt, but the Dream and Classic appear to be more aerodynamic. Guess it depends on how much you want to carry in it. Personally, I'm all about the kitchen sink.
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

I'm different. I have the little fanny pack called the FlashFlo.

It only holds 45 ounces, but I love it.

It has cargo space too. I usually carry my keys, a cell phone, a sandwich, some tissue, aspirin, gu, and a power bar. I don't need anything bigger.

I just wore it on my century ride last week. I refilled it at the rest stops. I also wear it on the biking sections of my sprint triathlons. It encourages me to keep drinking.

It is really easy to use!

I have the magic, which holds about 72 ounces. I hate the weight on my bike, but love the ease of keeping hydrated without reaching for a bottle. I didn't ride with mine today because it was only a 20 miler and found I kept reaching for the straw and nothing was there .

I prefer the Platypus bottles (MUCH easier to fill, clean and dry), but I just saw on their website that they don't make packs any more.

I read something on the LA Times site not long ago about a hydration pack that's actually sprung so it allows air flow between your back and the pack. That's my main issue with them - if it's hot enough to need one, it's too hot to wear one.

.... searching back to find the brand name... Ergon Bike - it's expensive and you have to supply your own bottle (that's where the Platypus comes in) - but if I had it to do over again I'd *definitely* want to at least try that one on. It sounds wonderful.

I also use the FlashFlo Camelbak waistpack. I like it better than having something on my shoulders and back. I never even notice it on a ride, in part because it doesn't hold as much water, so doesn't weigh me down. It's best for shorter rides (up to 2 hours) since it doesn't hold as much, but you can also supplement it with water bottles. On a really long ride, I'll use water in the Camelbak and Accelerade in a water bottle (or two).

I love mine, however be aware of what color it is. I live in Colorado where it is sunny most of the time. I used to have a darker one and I noticed it tended to heat up the water in the bladder faster then in a lighter color one. Nothing like drinking warm water on a hot day 60 miles out. YUCK

I used one for the HHH this year. I was glad I did. Helped me stay hydrated. The biggest downfall is that they start smelling funky. I doused mine in Fabreeze. Smells much better.

    smelling funky

i sterilise the bladder with milton (used here in uk for baby bottles ... when really everyone should breastfeed!!)
i also but the outer "rucksack" in the washing machine on a 40 degree cycle along with my other cycle clothes... comes out smelling sweet as a daisy!

Hey, Emily - I do the exact same thing. Now tell me that the Accelerade flavor that you like is orange, and I will really freak!

Tep, I use the Catalyst. Smaller, but is where I ride it's easy enough to refill. I hydrate better if it's right there, unlike the bottle, where I have to slow, or stop pedaling, because my bike handling skills aren't the greatest!
