Teen Killed by Lightning While Riding Bike

    http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/s...?storyid=89899

Is there something wrong with me that my first thought was "Now that's how I want to go".

Yes I saw that on the news sunday(Atlanta). We had a round of nasty storms come through, some of which knocked out my phone for 2 days and threw my breaker on my well pump(to show how bad the lightning was). He was trying to reach a gazebo and didn't make it. Very sad for his family-he was 15 yrs old and a freshman in high school, they say he was a nice fellow. Jenn

i can see a certain appeal to leaving our earthly home in a flash, while riding my bike... on the other hand, during thunderstorms, I would avoid bicycling because i'm not ready to go yet!

Definitely a preferred route than a long debilitating illness like cancer.

    It could have been me.
I saw the sky darkening and tried to beat the storm home. I didn't make it - was blown over by the wind and soaked by the time I got home but at least I got home.

Very sad though that he was only 15 years old.

I tried twice to pull the story up but was unable. I will comment that it is very sad. Makes me think twice about getting caught in the rain/thunderstorm.
