    Tri Suit fit

    Hi all...

I am training for a sprint Tri in late Sept and it is my first. I am wanting to buy a tri suit and have spotted one online that meets my budget/style. It's a Louis Garneau brand. Does anyone know if they fit true to size? I need it asap, but don't want to order the wrong size. According to their sizing chart, I can be between med-large. I'm about 130 lbs, but solid so I'm not sure if I should go large. What happens if you order a large and it's a little loose? Disadvantages or just uncomfortable. Better to go a little tighter?

    Thanks!

I think they fit largeish. I have an LG XL and it is a bit loose on me, and I am heavy (175), so I'd say go smaller--maybe even small.

I am larger chested, so it is squeezier on top and looser on the bottom, but it's been fine for both tris I've done (even with a 25 pound weight loss in between). My actual measurements are larger than what is shown on the XL --closer to the XXL.

That said, I hope they haven't changed their sizing in the last 3 years. Mine is 3 years old.

Tea- I tried on a Zoot Suit XL and it was just right (I'm about10 pounds over you). I thought XL's were the way to go, then. Hmm.
    I enjoy it all.

Zoot fitting might be different from Louis Garneau? Now I know I will fit a Zoot too .

Welcome and good luck on your tri, Setapart! Let us know how it goes!

Thanks. Will post about tri when I do it. I actually got a brain and just went to a local store to try on a suit. Not the actual one I wanted, but the same brand. I was better off in the large. I guess they shrink a little after you wash them too. My legs/hips are thicker so I'm stuck with the LG.

I bought a pair of bike shorts of the same brand and fit in a Medium and could do a small, but tighter. So, I guess the tri suits fit differently than the shorts.

I'm a little nervous about my tri too. I'm not a swimmer and I have been practicing, but the swim portion is 1/2 mile 880 yrds. I see most of the others have about 400-500 to do. I hope I make it. Will keep you informed.

    Thanks for the imput!
