    Unhappy Seat measurements ?

    Hi Ladies,

New time poster to the site and 6 months old road cyclist :) I've been reading with interest the discussions on seats and would love to upgrade the one I have, BUT seats are far cheaper in USA/UK, so i'd like to order one online, how do I measure what will fit me ? I'm looking at getting a couple of different brands, Specialised and Selle San Marco.... Thanks !

    try at a local shop

    kia ora--

welcome to the site-- i lived in devonport for 12 years and am now in orlando, florida for last 18 months - a new cyclist also--

why dont you try one of the bigger bike shops in town and see if you can get measured there and when you know your size you are wanting, you can order online--

i would try hedgehog bikes - they are in albany, takapuna and pukekohe and see if you can get some help there with sizing and fit of saddles..

    Millie!
    Welcome to the forum!
There are a few NZers here.

Like you we buy a lot of stuff online - ProBikeKit espesh - they are quick and freight is reasonable.

But do check out Torpedo7 - they have some good deals too. They have regular specials, good freight prices and are local.

If the purchase is significant, we go to our LBS and offer them to match the price, and sometimes they can!

Bat... just asked in another thread about your "Auckland-itis" so your post here confirms it. You are a long way from home!

    I was born in Auckland!

Hope you stay, Millie, this board is a really useful and interesting one - no matter what interest you have in bicycles!

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Oh, Millie, I meant to say - I bought a Dolce womens seat from the LBS - in fact I have the same seat on each bike - they were about $60 from memory...

Thanks ladies for the welcome.... great site and really useful information, plus nice people

Hedgehog cycles in Botany weren't that good as they don't have many ladies styles..... however I'm off to the States and UK next month so will try and get some seats there to bring back and try
