Well, I did it. And my ankle is still in one piece, and the best part? I beat my last time by 3 minutes. While that may not be much, I am almost 100% more satisfied with my times in the first few events than I was last time.
And you know what? Between the last tri and this I may have swam 2-3 times, all of them in open water. My time was 5 MINUTES faster. There was no freakage.
It was a beautiful thing.
