    Tour de Possum Creek

This is a grand tour. July 14. Yuma, VA. 44.5 miles in 2 hours 39 mins--16.8mph. Pretty good ride. Actually it's called the Possum Creek Ridge Ride with 5 climbs and a KOM comp. Anybody else ride it? This is as good as I have ridden in a long time. Amazing what hard training followed by rest and a high carb diet will do for a person. Most of the riders were faster than me, but considering I haven't ridden this far in any of my training, or with the level of elevation, I felt pretty good about it. Wouldn't mind seeing some of you guys there next year. We need more women to ride.

Yuma, VA... is that in Victoria, Oz? Or Vancouver, Canada?

A "Possum Creek Ride" sounds very EnZed or Ozzy...

Sounds pretty tough, Suz... so you just rode it these last few days? Congrats... you made good time.

Good on you for building a rest into your training... its probably one of the easiest training things, and yet probably the hardest to ACTUALLY do.

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

rest is the hardest thing for me to do. eating right is hard too. I'm too big a fan of BEER. it was a tough ride, and it is something that is worth travelling to do. now my next goal will be a YMCA 5k in August (gonna take some doin' to get my runnin' legs back), and then a century. I need something flat, withing driving distance of NE Tennessee. Let me know girz!
