Hello, I am new here! Withen the last 6-7 months, I have been training to be a triathlete..... cycling is my favorite of them all though! But anyway....

I am doing my senior project on cycling. With the senior project, I am required to work with a non-profit organization that has to do with cycling. I have to complete 10 hours a semester, 40 hours for the whole year.
I was wondering if you tell me of any non-profit organizations that I could recieve community service hours at in or around the orlando area.

    Thank you so much,
    Shannon

check out "Trips for Kids"... it's a national program, but i'm not sure if there's a branch near Orlando... it involves taking kids on bike trips on weekends.

can you create your own service project? you could run a bike safety clinic at a local elementary school, or work with a community center or police department to teach bike safety and awareness... you could also run maintainence clinics (it might be a good learning opportunity too!) for community members in conjunction with a local bike store, or work with National Bike to Work Week to organize the program in your area for next year... there are so many things you could do with bikes and community service!

good luck!!! sounds like tons of fun!

Yeah, I was gonna mention trips for kids too. There was a thing on the Velo Bella website where they did "bike rodeos" at local schools, worth checking out. They did safety stuff, repairs, skills stuff, etc.
