    Triathlon apparel

Hello ladies! I've been bitten by the triathlon bug. I've been training for about a month now. I've decided to sign up for a triathlon at the end of August. I'd like to get a tri-suit. I've read some past threads regarding tri wear but they're quite outdated. What are you gals wearing for your triathlons this season?

    Thanks for any input!

Same thing I wore last season, which is unlike anyone else.

    CWX bra and compression shorts.

After swim add team tank top and Terry Commuter skort over bra and aforementioned compression shorts.

    It's all good.

I went with the suit previously, and really liked it. This year I've so far been trying the two-piece tri top and bottoms, but I'm not sure it's better than the suit. It certainly is when I have to go to the bathroom. The one piece was really convenient and had a nice feel to it, fit-wise. The two-piece is more versatile, but you have to find the length of top that works for you (some are long enough to reach your hips, some are shorter).

Either way, I find it's easiest if you can try them on before you buy. Otherwise, buy from a good online store like TE that is great about returns.

This is my first season of doing tris too. Congratulations on getting bit by the tri bug. I have done one and they are REALLY fun. I have my next one this coming weekend.

I didn't want to invest a lot initially so I bought tri shorts from TE (I got the TYR brand and really like them. ) TE has the BEST customer service and I got them very quickly.
On the top under the wetsuit I wore a heavy black sports bra. The intent was to pull on my running top, but for the bike I changed the plan and just went as is, then pulled the top on for the run when I was dry - much easier.

My training partner who is also in her first season wore a one piece suit and loved it - I just didn't want to make the investment at this time and probably never will as what I am doing works and I am only doing sprints. Also I like the freedom of not being covered by a lot of wet material

If you do go w/ the one piece the one thing my training partner forgot was how to attach the number as you don't need it for the swim or bike. Luckily someone had an extra race belt that she could borrow.

Holy crap, just wanted to echo eclectic's thoughts on TE's fast shipping. I ordered some goodies and got them WITHIN DAYS. I'm currently wearing PI tri shorts and a Sugoi Fizz tank for the first time, did an OWS and it felt really nice so I think I'll stick with that combo for the next one.

    I wear this:

The shorts are very cute and comfy.... and the top is nice and LONG. Goes down to the hips and covers the belly. Great stuff. I LOVE this outfit!

For sprints I wear a Zoot trisuit. I went with that because it had a built in bra unlike most of the other brands. Now that I'm doing more olys and thinking about a HIM, I'm wearing a Zoot tri top and their 6 inch length tri shorts. I really like the one piece, but I'm going with the 2 piece because of the ease of using the bathroom.

Trisports.com and trizone.com are both having sales on last year's clothing.

I'm leaning towards a one piece right now. It seems to hold everything in better. The two pieces seem to be less flattering on me. Hopefully, that will change as I continue to train.

I did try on the Zoot Supersprint trisuit. It was okay. I actually found the built in bra difficult to deal with. Roadie gal- which one do you have?

Has anyone ever tried the Pearl Izumi trisuit?

I got a Louis Garneau one piece on sale. Sadly I have had no time to "battle test" it yet. I am hoping to do some tris in later August or September. Anyway I like the one piece quite a bit and think I'll be very happy with it.

I have the Trifit Racesuit from 3 years ago. It's essentially the same as the new ones. The bra needs a little adjusting when you first put on the suit, but then it's fine.

Whats up with the tri clothes sizing?

I bought some Zoot clothes off sierra trading post, and boy were they TOOOOO Tight!!!! Strangely, however, the shorts were too big.

Have they changed their sizing? none of this stuff was current year.

Also, since when is Ladies size 8 an XXL?

    Too Tight Too

    THANK YOU!
I thought it was just me! Apparantely Zoot presumes that women who run tri's will be tiny! I guess that's not me!
