Oh boy am I a happy girl! Today while wandering aimlessly around Powells Books (it's like, the biggest book store ever, really just go to www.powells.com) I picked up a copy of DirtRag. They didn't have most of the typical MTB or road bike mags, but I was up for a change.
Ooooooh my goodness this mag is sooo good! They have this oh so entertaining, but enlightening article about "mountain bikes" bought at K-Mart and Wal-Mart and the stuff they found wrong, and their test ride on mild park like trails that the typical customer might want to try. I got a good chuckle, but their argument for safety was valid. I just felt good when they mentioned pedals costing more than the bikes they bought. Yeah, my seat is worth more than the average K-Mart bike. Wooo I've become a bike snob!
The most amazing part is the shear amount of actual content! They reviewed real bikes, like real mid level hardtail bikes that normal people can afford. Not the $2000+ bikes the majority of their readers can only dream about. I am so impressed, maybe they can interview a female XC racer, and not have to include a pick of her in tight clothes with skin showing in the name of selling the mag. Not that any magazine would do such a thing.. *snicker*
