I decided to take my recumbent out for a spin this morning. I quickly discovered that the cable to my cadence wire had be cut in half thus explaining why there was no readout on the screen for this function. I did not let this sad discovery keep me from the ride and ride I did. I had a very enjoyable 20 mile and felt, for the first time, strong on this bike. I'm not sure what to make of this feeling but I enjoyed every minute of this wonderful experience. I even posted a great average speed (16.3 mph), iciing on the cake.
I spent this evening taking the old cadence wires off and putting a new cadence magnet/wire kit on my bike. I was so pleased to see that it worked. In the past I would simply have called my ex-BF to ask for assistance but not anymore. I know it is not a hard task but my confidence is not high when it come to mechanical/fix-it issues. However, I proved that I could do this without Tom's help and that did wonders for my spriits.

Then I remember that it's supposed be over 100 F today. again. and I need to run by DMV to see about my missing DL.
more than once). I went through I call "the swamp". It's the back yard of a school next to my place My access drive empties out on a busy street, and this allows to bypass it, although I have to portage the bike, since the ground is usually mucky, even at this time of year.
