It is like a new bike!

I took my bike in last week and had new bar tape put on it. The original Cannondale gel tape was not wrapped with a lot of overlap and it was causing a lot of fatigue on my hands. The guys at the shop wrapped the tops of the bars with a lot of overlap to make for a more comfortable ride. My old Fuji was wrapped the same way and the guys at the new shop I have been going to hit exactly what I wanted!! I chose blue to accent the blue in the frame. The final touch will be putting blue Maxxis Detonator tires on Monday, just waiting for UPS!

I also put on dark blue bottle cages.

With DH's R5000. Look how tiny my bike is! I guess that is expected I am 5'2", he is 6'2". He recently traded his black bar tape for the screaming orange.

Wow- the blue really does make it look like a different bike. I had to look again at your avatar to see the difference! Cool!
And, yes, your bike does look like a minature compared to his- but you ARE a foot shorter.
    Great pics!

I love your colors -- gorgeous blue bar tape! I can't wait to see pics with the new tires, as well. What shade of blue are they?

Odd color choice for your husband, though -- although orange is a lovely color.

I love both your bikes, but I kind of hate you for having such a clean garage.

Pooks- I looked at him like he was crazy when he said orange. It is bright though like a traffic cone, not that color half of Austin is covered in. Oh and only half the garage is clean, I insist on being able to get my car in the garage, so everything else is in disarray on the other side. The tires will be a dark blue from what I can tell, you can see them here: http://www.maxxis.com/products/bicyc...ail.asp?id=232

Oh yeah, here is a before of my bike. If you have a keen eye you might also be able to tell after having it re-fitted the seat is about 2" higher!

The new tape brings your bike to life. Gorgeous!

As for his orange -- it's not really the right orange, of course. It's the color of that other UT -- Tennessee!

    New Tires are On!

Here she is with her new Maxxis Detonators. Miranda is quite pleased with the makeover. Please disregard the dirty frame, it hasn't stopped raining long enough to get her out for a bath.

Thanks ladies. My new tires roll so much better than the Michelin Lithons that came on the bike. I am very happy!!! Oh, and I think the bike is too.
