I've seen a few threads recently bemoaning the difficulty of finding decent shorts without spending a fortune... So I just thought I'd put in a plug here for PI Sugar Shorts. I just got a pair and I'm very impressed with how much short you get for your $45... Comfortable, fairly well-cut, good chamois that will stand up to long rides (don't be scared off by the stiff feel when you try it on, PI chamois tend to soften up a lot in the wash), comfy fabric, well-finished. No, it's not as nice as my $100 PIs, or loads of other more expensive shorts. The fabric has less compression and is a tad heavier, for instance. The fit isn't quite as glovelike. And less style. But a heckuva short for the $$$.
