Well My tri is on saturday and I have never felt this many feelings at once. One minute I'm so excited and completely pumped, the next I feel sick to my stomach and think "what the He*l was I THINKING!) And then its excited and full of butterflies again. I'll be honest I'm SO scared but I know i've trained and I think I will do okay, Definatly no records though, although I suppose it will be a personal record just because it will be my first.. Lets be honest.. I'm scared. I know the swim will be fine the bike though.. even though I feel good on my bike i'm a little worried about the hills. But I think it will be fine and I"m just mostly excited!! It will for sure be a new experience so I want to really enjoy it!! THank you for all of your advice and help with getting me prepared!!

All of that will be gone as soon as the gun goes off, you will just get down to business and do what you trained to do.

    Have fun!

I always get pre-race jitters (and pre-race...um...intestinal issues- sorry TMI) , but like RNRGirl said- once the gun goes off it's down to business and off I go.
You'll have an amazing time!!! Just be sure to enjoy the experience. Look around you, take it all in. You never get that first one back, so don't let anxiety take away from the exciting atmosphere of the race. You're well prepared and you'll have a great race!
Know we're all here cheering you on!!!!!

    Good luck!!!!!

Try to just enjoy that first race. Like Tri Girl said, you only get one first one. It's scary and nerve wracking, but you'll feel like you accomplished so much at the end. And you have!

One thing to try to remember: When you're all amped up during the race it's easy to forget to pace yourself. Ignore the rest of the people and do YOUR race the way you trained.

    You'll do great! Enjoy!

    GOOD LUCK KRYS!

We all feel this way! I think before my first 4 races I felt that exact same way!

And, I completely have those thoughts about my HIM in October. There are times when I say, "you will be trained and ready"... and other times when I say, "What the H@LL were you thinking!".

I know for me... the night before a race... it really helps me to NOT THINK ABOUT THE RACE. I watch TV and I clear my mind as I go to bed. I tell myself, "tomorrow is just another normal day". Doing this gives me a perfect night's rest before a race.

Otherwise... yea TriGirl... when I get up in the AM... my nerves get to my tummy. Let's just say I've killed a couple of toliets in my day... and I hear this is a VERY COMMON occurance. HA! (Yea, TMI!)

Good luck and report back to us with all the juciy details. Enjoy the race.

Krys, you'll do great. Jitters are TOTALLY normal. Once you get past that first one, you'll be hooked.
