heads up on Cateye CD-300DW cyclometer

FYI, after my century on Sunday, the small bracket connecting my cyclometer to the larger bracket attaching it to the handlebars fell off. (Fortunately, the computer was not on it at the time!)

The Cateye folks advised me that this is not an isolated incident with the CD-300DW. They're working on it. They suggest that anyone with this model apply a drop or two of "Locktite" (available at hardware stores or perhaps you can get a drop from a friendly LBS) to the screw on the right of the large bracket. That will keep vibrations from loosening the screw.

PS, Cateye sent me a replacement bracket pronto

Hmmm, not sure which model I have and my problem is a little different but maybe I need to give Cateye a call. Something is busted in the bracket that holds the cyclometer in place. The cyclometer stays in the bracket under normal riding conditions but if I hit a big bump, it goes flying out. Right now, I've got a rubberband wrapped around it to hold it in place. I've only had it for a couple of months so it's probably still under warranty.
