    Trike?

My mother-in-law is terrified of bikes but is considering a trike. Unfortunately while there are lots of used bikes in her price range, I'm a little puzzled where to help her find a trike. (A grown-up one of course.) Any suggestions? If she lived closer, I'd just find her a bike and work with her on bike skills, if I could convince her to try.

Try contacting a recumbent club near her? They might know of some used trikes for sale, and might have someone to help her with riding. Who knows, maybe she'll get involved the club and start doing a lot of riding!

    BROL: www.bentrideronline.com

I have a trike, and searched for just the right one for me. PM me and I'd be happy to email you with more info than you could possibly want!
Love my trike! I also talked my mom into getting a trike, she's doing the AIDS ride in Albuquerque on it this weekend (by herself!).
There are deltas and tadpoles and fast trikes and expedition trikes and...
They aren't cheap as most are not mass manufactured, but there are some more "reasonably" priced options and some used ones on BROL.
    Here's a link to BROL's trike discussion

or are you talking about an actual upright trike, like a kids, but bigger?

Thanks, these are the sort of things I believe she has in mind.
I'll keep an eye on the sale forum for her.

We've sold a few of these to people looking to do errands on a bike. Maybe your mom would be interested in something like this?
