    Volunteering at XTERRA

I just contacted someone about volunteering at an XTERRA challenge near my hometown. Anyone have an experience volunteering? What did they want you to do? Did you get to see some of the transistions?

I am interested in seeing a transistion- I am a little unsure of how to do one, considering I am going to enter a small tri in late July.
    I enjoy it all.

    transition

What a nice chickie! Thank you for offering to help out!

I volunteered at the Ironman last year and spent my day standing on a sun drenched corner on the cycle leg "directing". I didn't have much to do after the first lap as most of the folks knew the corner was there!

I couldn't get over the amount of athletes who yelled "thanks" when they went by.

The previous Half IM I stood in transition & drooled at the top athletes as they zoomed in and out! It's quite cool being able to watch Peter Robertson or Jason Shortis get in and out of transition so quickly!
Keep an eye on the normal folks as well as you may pick up some pointers.

This year I wanted to do somehting a bit different & was one of the Technical Officials at the Half IM.

Thank you again for offering to volunteer!
