    Talking Lucky Me

It was our Wedding Anniversary yesterday so DH just bought me a pair of Specialized Dolce shorts for a present. Going to try them out shortly.

The only extra small ones the LBS had were in bright red but because it's been really hot here today, I decided I'd have the red ones. Guess what? The LBS got a pair of extra small black shorts in today. They only put them on the display stand half an hour before I went in.

Hows this for good service. I decided my bike needs new brakes (the brake blocks that are on my bike are probably as old as the bike and look perished). Cost of new brake blocks (Shimano) £16 for front and back. The gave me a discounted price of £10.

Same thing happened with the shorts. They were £34.99 and they let me have them at a discounted price of £29.99

Obviously they want to keep me as a regular customer - and I did have a word with them about getting the men's equivalent of my new bike for my son. He doesn't know it yet but after he gets his transplant he's going to be presented with a new bike. Sssshhhhh

But the red onces make you faster.

That's why we should go to our LBS when we can afford it.

When I was ten and in the hospital for an appendectomy I got a Francie doll.
For those of you who are not acquainted with Francie's family tree, she is Barbie's cousin

I had a Sindy doll - the British equivalent of Barbie back in the 1960's. My Sindy quickly became an Action Girl. Many times she was dropped out of the window tied on the end of a makeshift parachute made from one of my Dad's large handkerchiefs. How that doll survived I don't know

Tried the shorts out last night. I really like them. Very comfortable. Yes. You've guessed it. I'm going back to get the red ones next week

Of course I'll need some more jerseys that match the red shorts.......
