congrats!! I haven't done a century yet this year and it feels like it will be my first. That ride you did sounds really neat. How was the weather?

I hope you can all stand another thread on another TE'ers first century ever!![]()
Today, I did the Little Red Riding Hood Century in northern Utah, with a brief foray in Idaho. The weather was great. The route was super. And the company was fabulous. I met several TE'ers along the way. Added to all that, DH drove up this morning with our dogs, so I could be appropriately greeted at the rest stops! DH, who recently completed an Ironman, met me at the finish line with a shout reminiscent of the "You ARE an Ironman" announcer. Although "You ARE a Little Red Riding Hood Finisher" doesn't roll off the tongue quite as easily, it sounded mighty fine to me.![]()
Other than a stomach cramp from miles 55 to 68 (which may have been caused by the lemonade Clif drink), I felt top notch. Once I switched over to water and my usual apple flavor Clif drink, and had a few Hammer Digest Caps, I was fine. I'm amazed because nothing hurt during the ride and nothing hurts now! My longest training ride was only 63 miles, but I do a lot of hills. This course was quite flat. And speaking of flats, my friend got two. The last flat was TWO miles from the finish.![]()
What a great day!

Thanks, Mimitabby! The weather was perfect. It was about 50 at the start and probably was in the 80s when we finished. Gorgeous blue skies. There was a bit of wind, but it wasn't too bad at all. I had heard that there were headwinds on this ride, so I made a point of training in really nasty winds. Compared to what I did in training, it was practically like being caressed by a gentle breeze. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration!![]()

Congrats!!

Congrats! I can't wait to join you in the Century Club! So glad to hear you had a good ride and that you're feeling good afterwards!
Would have joined you on that one, except that the spouse had an autocross race today (we skipped yesterday's autocross to do the TT Championships, and since he's trying to win his class in the auto racing, we had to compromise!). Congrats on your first century!!! (We did the SL Century - my first - and it was great, until the last 5 miles, hich really sucked....) Great job!!!!
