    time trial

I feel a little foolish posting times in the presence of Iron women and women placing in tri's. but I am going to anyway

the bike club had a little 10 mile time trial last night. They are going to repeat it each month.
I am far from a fast rider as my focus is touring, not racing but I thought what the heck let's go out and see what I can do and it will give me a little notion on what I could do for the bike portion for the tri next week.

We only had a 10 mph headwind out and it was sweet coming back

all told I did it in 34 min and averaged 17.28 mph - for me that was really good and I was pleased.

I really worked on shifting and keeping my cadence up over 90 rpms, I never do that on regular rides but for some reason my legs just went faster last night - and that was after having a stomach bug all day

BTW I ended up ordering a 2xu wetsuit just couldn't find a rental place that would work out

It's about the journey and being in the moment, not about the destination

    Hey there ecletic.
I'm not a triathelete, but just had to post a reply (whenever I see "time trial" a kind of compulsion overtakes me) and that average of nearly 28kph gave you a useful time. And if you have never TTed before as such, then well done you.

I can see how doing TTs or aerobic TTs would be great as part of a triatheletes training repertoirre.

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

Congrats on your TT! What a GREAT average speed! I'd LOVE to be that fast! You did super! Nice to try things new and different sometimes...

Sorry you couldn't find a wetsuit rental that worked for you, but how exciting that you'll be having a new 2XU coming to live at your house very soon!!!! You'll definitely have to let us know how you like it when it arrives.
