    Go Dave Z!!

From Velonews: Zabriskie testing GC waters at Giro.

For the first time of his career, Dave Zabriskie is making a serious stab at the overall classification of a grand tour.... "You never know how Dave is going to go," said Team CSC sport director Alain Gallopin. "He's a smart rider and he's skinnier than he's ever been before. That will help him in the hard mountain stages in the final week of the Giro."

Let's just hope he's doin' it clean...
"How about if we all just try to follow these very simple rules of the road? Drive like the person ahead on the bike is your son/daughter. Ride like the cars are ambulances carrying your loved ones to the emergency room. This should cover everything, unless you are a complete sociopath."

i get up every morning and watch the giro on cycling.tv and DZ is really holding his own, i'm surprised. today he finished with a group about 8-1/2 minutes down, the group included axel merckx and was ahead of bettini, who is definitely a GC contender. it was a real climbers day. how do these guys race up these mountains, peipoli looked like he was just doing a sunday afternoon ride in the park! at the finish, as soon as each crossed the line, guys were grabbing the fences and holding on, like they were too tired to go one more pedal stroke but didnt even have the strength to unclip. brutal!!

Dumb question of the day: I checked out cycling.tv a while back, but I can't remember-- Is there a charge for it? Or do you just have to register?

I have to add my Woo-Hoo to any discussion about my (sorry ladies, OUR)boy!

Crazy that he's whittled himself down to 140 lbs for this year. The man weighs less than I do! He's dropped in the Giro standings a bit since they hit the hills, but he's still rockin' it. So glad to see that he has a strong cheering section here on TE!

I hope he's got the breath to do some one-question interviews with his fellow riders as he's huffing & puffing up those hills OUR boy needs to get some funny stuff back up on his blog.
