Yes, I will be participating. Actually my club is doing it for the first time. They had never heard about it until I brought it up. They put me a coordinator. Now another club wants to join us and they are trying to get a third nearby club to join in to make a larger impact. So the little seed that I planted just blossomed as of yesterday.

Yes, it is Wed, May 16, 7:00pm

We are. In Evansville, Indiana. We are starting a bit earlier though. Meeting at 6:00 and riding at 6:30 pm.

I finally get to do it this yr as well. Last 2 yrs work got in the way. We've had 2 people in our club get hit by cars in the last 2 months and 2 more in neighboring counties/city. So I really want to participate. Jenn

Good idea. I was wondering how they handle the different time zones? like at each TZ appointed 7pm everyone ride. Just a curious thought.

We contacted the website and said that we wanted to go earlier and they said that although they prefered 7, that they were ok with us going a little earlier. It's getting dark here by 7:45 and we want to be sure that everyone is back in.

Our club is organizing a ride. They want us to wear black arm bands. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make one or where to buy one?

Possibly. I'd like to but it's a drive from my house.

An old black sock works pretty well. (cut off the cuff)

I am giving them out to all the riders. I bought spools of wide black ribbon at the craft store. I cut it into 2 feet strips so everyone can tie it around their arms.

SOmebody in our club is just going to get black cloth and tear it into strips. We sort of were going to have one last year - but tornado warnings closed us down, and it was only four or five of us (mayeb would have been a dozen with better weather?). This year, unfortunately, we have more reason so I *know* we'll have more people.

Yes!!! Ride is organized by local bike club. Hopefully the weather will hold, evening storms are common in the south.
