I generally don't like bike paths. Too many walkers, runners etc. I ride roads. I have to ride through town to get to the country roads. So I ride almost every type of road.

I'm finally back home, with a chance to take 2 weeks off from work and clock in some serious cycling!! So happy.
Just out of curiosity, do you guys ride mainly on big roads, small roads or just the dedicated bike paths(question going out to all you road riders)?
The reason why I ask is because of safety concerns (both vehicular & criminal persons). I have a single route which I've worked to death and am thinking of planning a couple of new nice ones.
So any general tips?
Muahahahahaha! I know Kung Fu.

I like county roads. Less traffic and the people seem friendlier. I've only had a handful of times when anyone honked in anger, yelled or crowded me.

I like small, more rural roads the best. Luckily I've got many nearby.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...
