    Duathlon advice?

OK I can run 5km now. I can ride 32km without a problem. How much harder is it to run 5 km twice on the same day? Do I need to be able to run a full 10 km before I try a duathlon? (5k, 32k, 5k)

Great job on being able to run a 5K!! For me, the hardest part about du's is getting my running legs back after being on the bike (I guess that goes for tris as well).
Do some brick workouts (running right off the bike) to get your legs acclimated to running after biking. Your bricks don't need to be long (maybe run for 5-10 min directly off the bike), but you just need to get used to the sensation. You should do great in a du where you're at right now. You don't need to be able to do a single 10K before doing the du- since you use different muscles on the run and bike, it's not the same when you split the 2 5K's. Sounds like you've got a good base and should be just fine!

What race are you planning on doing?
