    Picking out my colors

    To disable ads, please log-in.

    I went to the bike shop last night and spent over an hour there. The bike is going to be an amazing orange, which starts with white paint, then Maserati orange, covered with candy orange, covered with pearl. the highlights will be a wonderful deep dark Ferrari red, which happened to be the color another bike was painted that was newly made there in the shop. I was able to see it and it was so beautiful I almost decided i'd have a red bike instead of an orange one.

    I didn't know that they used car paint colors, but sure enough, their color books were ALL car paint colors!! they were listed by make and year. funny, huh!
    the last thing will be a tiny bit of gold paint that will highlight my lugged forks
    and a touch somewhere else. (you'll have to wait and see)

    I came up with a name for the bike too, there were two names in the running;
    Furbelow; which is actually english, which referrs to extravagance
    and Cavalletta, which means grasshopper and is very close to the Italian word for horse (Cavallo) ; in a way it means little horse too. So, Cavalletta is the name of the bike.

    I don't know when it will be done, but now I know what it's going to look like.

    It hasn't been painted yet, dear.

    I will certainly try to take a picture of the nekkid frame. I could take a picture of the box of bike parts sitting next to my desk here?

    I keep asking the guys at the LBS, should i bring my parts yet? they just give me a kind of paternal look and tell me it's a little early for that.

    I did ask if i could lose my place in line because someone else was in a hurry and they said no, that never happens.

    lol my fenders are going to be the Ferrari red.

    that will look cool with the little bit of red trim on the bike. But now the handlebars MUST be Orange or will have to match the saddle, ie, brooks brown.

    On the car paint thing, I know that's what they do at Lynskey. They utilize custom motorcycle shops.

    Since orange is my favorite color, you get a huge thumb's up from me. It sounds absolutely beautiful.
