    MRI Time for me

We have had the most beautiful spring biking weather! I can only vicariously ride with my "girls" by checking the postings on our dirtchix yahoo group.

It has been 11 weeks since I got hit in my driver's side door. My neck is much better but my L4/L5 joint is very unhappy and pointing towards a disk problem. I have been referred to get an MRI. My PT did a great job on my neck and the lumbar strain, and I am able to do all the exercises he has taught me at home. But he decided to release me from treatment for lack of progress, until we get more answers via imaging. I was doing very well until 2 weeks ago but have hit a plateau, actually gone downhill because I was able to hike 2 miles but now can barely walk around the block.

My pretty pink bike gets dusted occasionally and I even washed ol' Blue which was wearing a coat of dirt from our last ride 12 weeks ago.

If anyone is going to Sea Otter- have fun!!!! Just before my accident I was considering making the trip. But that's okay. God has other plans for me right now.

I'll let you know what I find out- probably next week.

I don't know how I missed that you were injured. I am so sorry. I hope that you get some answers from the MRI. I was just thinking about you yesterday. I heard the Queen song and wondered why I had not seen posts lately.

I will send you some healing Karma.

    Yeah!

My MRI came out negative for disc herniation. I am so glad. My MD put me on a steroid Medrol pack for a week and it really cut down the inflammation and pain. I have gradually increased my ability to walk from 10 minutes to 40 minutes. Yesterday I took my dogs on an easy 2-mile hike. I took my pruning shears to cut back some areas so I can ride my bike up there (soon I hope!) The area behind my house is open space and has cattle on it. The cows have made a nice single track up a canyon that is perfect for hiking and biking. My own private trail. Just gotta look out for the cow pies.

That is such great news. I am so happy for you. Steroids can work wonders when used correctly. You will be back at it in no time!

Awesome news! I'm off of my bike for short while and I too am very anxious to ride again. I hope you are back on your chariot asap!

    Yay! No disc issues!

Keeping my fingers crossed for the steroids!

Great news! Glad to hear it isn't a disc problem. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll start making some quicker recovery progress.

Hopefully you can at least get on a stationary or road bike soon!
