The guy who is responsible for the fine design of the Davidson bikes has been on vacation and returned today. I am going in on Thursday to pick my colors/pattern. I found RADIANCE colors, they are transparent colors painted over metallic bases. I have seen them on line, but not in person, so I want to see his color chips. That's the plan, and if i can't do it on thursday, there's always Saturday.

thanks for asking. I am looking forward to having this cool new bike, I was even thinking of a name for it.

How is your bike that you were having restored? and did you get another after that too?

while we're doing true confessions here, I have been watching Ebay for old Mercian bikes, if i ever see one that i think is my size, I might bid on it.

    Very cool.

You wanna see some cool paint jobs? Check out this link: http://www.spectrumpowderworks.com/spwpictures.php Tey do great work but they're as expensive as a paint job.. Cool stuff though.

The X0-1 is still at the bike shop. Chris is waiting for me and the decaler to stop arguing Actually and seriously, I really like working with Mike. I think I'm just a bit more detail oriented than normal.

So if anyone needs to do a rebuild and needs decals for their bikes, I liked: http://home.comcast.net/~velographic/VGabout.htm

As to your other question.... "Shhhhh....."

    Mimi,

I'm also curious about the status of your Davidson. How's that going? I ordered one around the end of January and got it last month. I know they hired a hot shot Ti welder from California to help with the demand.

I'm really happy with mine and to top that off - have had a super easy time working with Bob and Bill.

Shamefully I don't have a picture yet of my new baby!

Hi Micki rider and good old buddy Rogue
I am still waiting. I understand it is VERY soon; but no, I have no bike yet,
i just have a couple of boxes of parts.

Can someone call the shop and ask them how my bike is?

OH, darn! They've ordered a new bike computer for me, and when I go in to have it put on, I'd be happy to casually mention "Oh, Say" about your bike wait if you'd like and you are serious about that!

I'm like a bike shop groupie anyway and everyone there's getting to know me quite well. And so far they have put up with all my questions and I have not been kicked out...

I wonder why ti is faster a faster deliverable than steel? I see your name on this site often enough to know about your Bianchi. Did you also buy it from them? They're lovely, too. And is there some other bike order that went south on you? Sorry to hear about that, too. Hopefully your Davidson will make it right again.

Ti is slower. I put my order in during the month of March. It seems like a lot longer because in January I bought a frame and it was a bum deal and i had to have it returned after waiting weeks.
Anyway; that's why it should be ANY DAY now...

I bought my Bianchi on Ebay.

    Smile

I'll try! It's painted a blue color like the one in the border above on this page where the words Reply to Thread are at. I guess most people don't paint their ti bikes, but I opted to and went back a lot before I could make up my mind! Of course in hindsight I almost wish I'd gotten a white bike but I love mine nonetheless. Most of their ti bikes I've seen are "naked."

March. I can see the reason for the delay. They told me I got my order in just in time because, right afterward, they were having a hard time keeping up with the demand. I hope it is literally any day now. I'm sure they're trying! I realized my bike was nearing completion when they called to ask me if I was SURE about the color.

I'm sorry if this brings up something unpleasant but I recall maybe seeing a picture of a foreign bike frame being ordered by someone whose name I see a lot here and the bike shop guy not being so nice about that buyer checking on its arrival. I hope that was not You but if it is, then I distinctly recall making note that I will go to a bike shop where I can ask all the crazy questions I want and they never take offense. That's why I bought the Davidson over everything else made here. I have been riding exactly 1 year to date and I did not want to buy my ride from someone who knew too much and wouldn't help me, or knew too little and didn't care about the fit and would be gone when I went back to ask questions. A consistent opinion was also really important to me.

Your whole Team's Bianchis are lovely. I'm looking at a used one but it's a double and I still ride a triple. I already have a steel Fuji rain bike that does just fine, but would love to have a steel Bianchi someday when I replace that.

So I'll try to get a picture together and you let us know the minute EBBikes calls with your news, OK?!

Mimi, when was the last time you "pinged" them on status? They don't have an approx date for you? Just "soon"?

    Hope it comes soon!

    just soon.
I recently decided that "soon" is the nastiest word a bike shop can utter to a customer. The management at a shop just got an earful from me yesterday when I'd heard that word one too many times from them.

(I could probably use some lessons in patience...)

    FINALLY
    a word..
My bike is on the top of the STEEL list now. They will start welding MY bike next week (that takes a week) and then the week after that, it will go into paint!
(hmmm, Memorial day will slide it some more)
Sounds like I'm going to get a bike mid June!
