    HELP Bike Cooler

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I am a commuter and on my bike from 5 am til I arrive home around 9pm. Therfor I am carrying all my food/gear with me. I live in the high desert where the the temps get well into the high 90s and 100s. I have panniers on my bike and a small rack. I am looking for a cooler that will actually keep my food COLD and not take up to much space. I am carrying alot of other crap. Any one have any experience with this or suggestions?
    Thanks B

Maybe you could make something insulating in a size and shape that work for your bike. I'd suggest Reflectix - you can get it in rolls at a hardware store, it's like bubble wrap sandwiched between layers of reflective alumimum, and they sell alumimum reflective tape to attach it together. You can wrap it around containers or make it into envelopes to keep stuff hot or cold. It won't keep things cold all day, but packed with ice it would help.
Oil is good, grease is better.
