I have a 2005 Trek 5000. Its a great bike and has taken me over many miles. I used it recently for a 200km Brevet. After 2005 the Trek 5000 was not made in the USA and is not OCLV carbon. I dont have an issue with this but if you are after a made in the USA bike beware that after 05 this model was produced in China or Taiwan (sorry not sure which).
The most effective way to do it, is to do it.

I have a Giant TCR Aero2... so not exactly the same... but I love it. It is now my time trial bike.
My road bike is an EMC2 Femetape Pro.... the female version of the Etape Pro. It is the sweetest thing I have ever ridden on.

I have a Giant TCR (that I bought as a frame) and built up with Durace.
It is the sweetest road bike I have ever owned!

I have the Giant TCRw- I love it - it's fast, responsive and a good hill climber. It's a great value for the components that come with it (Ultegra and 105s)

What are the waranties on the 2 bikes?
I think my Giant has a lifetime warranty on the frame and maybe the fork too.

Well I did it I boutght the Giant TCR cw. It is so good looking with the black and orange and I think I will look good riding it.
If I say so myself. The ride is fabulous and I feel as though I just cut throught the air. The LBS was so great and I would recommend them to anyone. They gave me such great help and never once tried to pressure me into buying something like some of the other stores around Houston.
I have only given her a few miles but plan on hitting the road this weekend and really working her in. Well gotta run.
