1st pair of tri or road shoes - recs?

My gear upgrade this season is going to be tri or road shoes. I've been wearing my mountain bike shoes the past few seasons, but am now going to treat myself to the real deal. Tri is my favorite sport, plus I live in hot Texas, so I'm leaning toward the tri shoe - just tried on the ladies sidi and specialized versions. I think I'm going with speedway petals. Any recs or experience to share? Thanks!

I have the Sidi road shoes and love them! (And I wear them in triathlons too.)
