Congrats! It's always fun to see progress. And you got to do something we haven't done in months here in Phoenix: ride in the rain. Want to send some of that wet stuff our way?!

WAHOOOOOO!!! I just got back form a morning ride (something I RARELY do). Not only did I go out when it was threatening to rain, but I maintained 18.5 mph for .5 miles! I know that's no biggie for some of you, but for me it was great. My avg. speed is about 12 mph. Oh yeah, it also rained on me for a time, so I got in my first in the rain ride!

First, Barb, congratulations on your personal best! Personal green jersey for you! Small victories and accomplishments keep us going! Is your next goal to keep the speed up over a longer distance or to increase your speed over the same distance?Originally posted by Barb

I'm not comparing your pace to world class athletes; I'm just in awe of the Tour riders. Posties finished the TTT today in 1:12:03 for 64.5 km. That's an average of 33.4 mph for 40 miles!! WOW!Now that's haulin' the mail!!

How about Noval making it in by himself with nobody to draft off of? Or the Phonak team with only five riders? Just an amazing race this morning.
Now back to Barb![]()
Way to go! Keep it up! I actually kind of enjoy riding in the rain. As long as I have the right clothes and a warm dry place after.

My goal is to increase my distance at 18mph. Alot of the group rides around here are FAST! I want some speed on me before I try to hang with the big dawgs! I can't even imagine 30+ . Watching some of the crashes just does me in!
