    Bike rack advice?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Hi! I am in the market for a bike rack... easy to use and hopefully affordable. Anyone have a Honda CRV, the kind with the spare tire in the back... off to the side? What types of racks have you used? I was considering Thules' Spare Me, Yakima's Spare Joe... or maybe even a hitch and rack.

    Suggestions welcome!

    Thanks!

We have the Thule Spare Me on our RAV4 and we really like it, much more than we like the roof rack on our other car.

A Yakima or Thule frame adaptor is a good add-on if you have a mountain bike or if your bike is particularly small. My 15" Specialized Rockhopper won't fit on the Spare Me without an adaptor. The adaptor is about $30.

Thanks for your advice! Sounds like Thule is the way to go!
