I have an odd question for you ladies. Well, this one could mainly be for Veronica..

V..I remember you had some rock friends on Fluffy last year. I'm curious & would like to know if it helped in any way.

How long did you cycle with your rock friends? How heavy were the rocks?

Are the rocks any different to placing a small weight on one's bike?

I'd like to try the rock or weight experiment & see what it does.

Perhaps i just have rocks me head

I think I carried them around for a month a two. I can't quantify how much the rocks helped. I used rocks because they fit in my seat bag. I think they weighed 15 pounds, but it might have been only 11.

It seems to me that carrying around more weight would have to make you stronger. I did see some real strength increase after the 19 day self supported tour I did last summer.

On the other hand, one could carry rocks, expend the same amount of energy, and just go slower. Increased fitness from a tour may be the miles and hours on the bike as much as the weight. Though getting that weight up hills must count for something.
