But hey, isn't it a "good" worn out?

I took 1 1/4 hours off work this afternoon to ride. Did 19.5 miles at 15.5 mph. It wore me out.

Took off early today too. Just got back from 37 miles at 17 mph. Roads have dried out some since yesterday, so no need to post a pic of my dirty face today. It feels REALLY good to be out riding!

I took the day off so that I could see my thyroid doc for my 6 month checkup (all is well, numbers look great). Afterwards I treated myself to a nice lunch and decided to try and get a few miles in before the rain moved in to our area. Once again the wind was my friend for half of the ride and my foe for the other half. However, the 14 miles I squeezed in before drop of water started to weakly descend on me were 14 strong miles. I continue to be amazed at how much strength I've gained since I pulled my bike out three seasons ago and I'm loving every minute of it![]()
The club is holding a 30/60/100 mile ride here in my town tomorrow and BF and myself plan on joining in on the fun. I don't think my legs are up to 100 miles yet but I'm going to do the 60 (I know most of the roads so for once I won't be in uncharted territory and if I get lost I'll be able to find my way home). It is suppose to be in the mid 70's tomorrow and the low 80's on Sunday - I'm loving this weather, even the wind.

Now that we've got more daylight, I've gone back to my 9 days of working, one day off schedule; today was my first Friday off since last fall. It was a lovely day, temp in the 70's, a bit overcast, and I rode my bike to get my hair cut. I found out that Google maps has streets that really don't exist, so it was a bit of an adventure finding a route that would lead me to the shopping center.
It was kind of embarassing to be in bike shorts amongst all the 80 year olds getting their weekly wash and set, but what the heck. I love using my bike as transportation, not just recreation! 16.5 miles round trip, crossed the 500 mile mark for the year.
Left work before noon (thank goodness for my maxi-flex schedule) so I could get in some miles before the predicted rain. It was warm and humid. Sunny for about an hour and then the clouds rolled in! I was able to get in 30 miles before I started getting hungry and it started to drizzle. Finally, the weather cooperated this week so I could log some decent miles again!
