    Going the longer distance?

I am thinking about doing an Olympic Distance in 5 weeks. I have been training hard and our coach seems to think it is doable. The swim is actually the easiest leg for me. I am also able to the run.

How much extra do you think is necessary to do on the bike?

    TIA

That will depend on the course...... flat and fast, or hilly. You can handle it if you just take it easy on the bike, since it is your concern. Go check out the route. I drive the routes ahead of time and actually measure the inclines... I put it on tape and place it on my top tube so when I hit a hill at 15.2 miles, I know it will only last for .6 miles.... alot of it is in your mind. Check the course and prep yourself for it, take advantage of the flats and donwhill, save it for the climbs......Good Luck, you can do it

How long are your rides now? What is your week average and your longest? What effort are you riding at?
