Well a few days ago I was snowshoeing in 15 degrees, but today was sunny, dry roads, and 40 degreesF so DH and I had a lovely 2 hour ride.
Man, it felt GOOD to get in a decent ride- getting on my bike felt so natural somehow, after several weeks off it. The last 2 months have had me variously either sick or getting over being sick, and I had forgotten how it felt to feel well and strong on my bike. Today I felt great, and my bike was working so smoothly and silently - I love that! Supposed to get colder again and maybe some more snow tonight, so it was wonderful to have this little jewel of a day for a bike ride.

I actually got off work in time to enjoy a ride, I got in 15 miles in the lovely 78 degree sunshine. It felt sublime! It was also a day to wear my new bibs, jersey and buff.

I rode 13 miles. I discovered a new road to a hidden neighborhood. I love exploring on my rides.

I changed two flat tires. One on my bike and one on my son's. I've changed tubes before, but this time I actually read the instructions and I couldn't figure out what a bead is. It said to put one bead on and I could not figure out what that meant so I just changed it like I always do. Thinking about it late last night I finally understood what a bead must be. I just didn't know that's what it's called. I was picturing something bead shaped. I take it that the bead is the edge of the tire. I'm still learning this stuff.
