February 20 Rides

Am I the first to post?

Gee, cool!

Okay, so I asked what to wear and of course, got too warm, but luckily not too terribly warm. (Next time I'll go ahead and change into the shorts instead of the knickers when it's 70, because by the time I got home it was 78!)

I rode to the bank and rode through the drive-thru, then to the post office, then to the library.

9.3 utility/green miles.

I know how long it took me to ride one leg of it (4.8 miles in 26 minutes) but don't know how to figure the mph. Anybody know numbers?

And before I started, my blood pressure was 135/89, and when I got home it was 119/80. How did THAT happen?

Anyway, it feels great.

This isn't exactly a "ride" but it involved two TE women doing something outdoors. Robyn Maislin and I met at Great Brook Farm in Carlisle for an afternoon of cross-country skiing. Temperatures were in the upper 40s and it's supposed to rain tonight, so we had to catch the snow before it melts. Conditions were pretty good for waxless skis. The trails kept confusing us, but as long as you didn't really care where you were, it was OK. Nice day, good skiing, pretty woods, pleasant company. Here's the mug shot back in the parking lot.

Deb, that picture makes me look evil and not too attractive! Of course, I was half dead when we finished. I am currently reviving myself with a glass of wine, after a long hot shower.

Well, I'm glad someone enjoyed the snow today.

DH leaves for work earlier than I do (on his bike). When he got there, he tried to call me & warn me to take the car, but I'd already left.

My friends, it was SLICK out there. I'd put some power to the pedals and there would be no forward motion. I don't WANT an outdoor stationary trainer!

DH & I both made it to our respective places of employment, upright and in good health. No falls.

This afternoon's ride home was nicer, but wetter. Odd, there were puddles here and there. Can't figure it out.

Our SD cold and snow is gone for a few days so today was my first outdoor ride of Feb.!

Temps were 39 to high 40's for the 22 miles. My bianchi eros was smooth as butter with a new tune-up and cont.gatorskin tires. Can't wait for tomorrow's outdoor ride.

Just 30 minutes on the trainer for me today. Would have done an hour, but had other obligations.

Pooks, that's 11.08 mph.

It was the perfect day for a ride. I hurried home from work, changed my clothes, was all excited about riding and then so disappointed to find out my bike had a flat tire and nothing to fix it with. What a bummer!

No, no! You just look like someone who's had a great time skiing!

That's what we're all about here, having fun. If we can't have fun on the bikes, have fun doing something else, as long as it involves getting outdoors, correct?

Cycled home 37 miles from work in steady drizzle. The steady type of drizzle that doesn't seem like rain, but more like 100% humidity. Ended up very wet and very tired. The last hour was a struggle. Think I was just run down from not sleeping well all weekend from a very achy tooth. Tooth is now better so hopefully the next ride will be too.

Uff da. Too bad about that dentist check-up that got cancelled at Xmas time. Do you have a dentist nearby you could check with? Toothaches don't just cure themselves spontaneously, at least not in my experience.

The cross-country skiing sounds grand. Something I've never tried, but if I ever get to live in Colorado, plan to!

Ouch on the tooth!
