    Ladies,
For the most of the rest of the planet, tomorrow is another work day, for some in the US, a federal holiday. But for those of us in the Big Easy it's LUNDI GRAS, to be followed by MARDI GRAS

I admit I haven't lived in the New Orleans area long enough to be tired of the parades... Monday 2 parades; tuesday, the two biggies that I haven't seen yet - Rex, King of Mardi Gras; and Zulu - the African-American community's main parade that historically poked fun of Rex.

Does standing around for 3-4 hours waving your arms madly and shouting "Throw me something mister!" count as exercise?

Now back to your regular lives....

Happy Mardi Gras right back atcha, Beth Mc! Happy Mardi Gras to us all!

What many people don't know is that carnival and Mardi Gras are celebrated along a long swath of the Gulf Coast, including the Florida panhandle--we've been knee-deep in carnival activities for a couple of weeks now, all culminating in the frenzy of these last few days leading up to Ash Wednesday. Guess I'm gonna have to change my avatar then.

Not only on the Gulf Coast

But it seems to me everywhere in the USA that's there French heritage. Saint Louis also has a Mardi Gras festival:

I love Mardi Gras. Sadly now that I live in Eastern Oregon, it's not much fun! They just don't celebrate it out here. I still have all my fancy dresses that we wore to the balls in South Miss.--just hanging in the closet. Out here it's more Wranglers (I don't have any of those!) I'd love a piece of King Cake. Bad JuJu, please don't change your avatar!

Mardi Gras day, and I wake up with another friggin migraine... So once again I didn't make it to the Grand Finale. Grumble grumble grumble.
Parades last night were great tho. And I stayed hydrated. My head hates me.
Today when I finally crawled out of bed for the second time, I tried out the Yoga DVD I bought from Terry - yoga for cyclists. Could actually feel blood flowing in my brain. Very odd. Yoga is cheaper than a neurologist...
I feel a bit better, maybe run an errand or two, but will avoid the crowds in the Quarter.
    Tomorrow is back to work
