Open it up - it folds out to reveal the woman. I think there's an alternate cover that features the woman on the cover and the man on the inner flap.
I thought it was cute that he had a Luna bottle. His sitbones are already getting wider...

You just have to laugh.
Once again an airburshed man on the cover posing with a road bike, but in a nod to women bicyclists (and mtbers) everywhere, he is holding a Luna wmn's mtb team water bottle.
Then when you open the flap, you find the chickie and the rest of the bike.
Whoa, maybe he's holding the water bottle for her? (her shorts, ummm, don't they seem a little TOO low?)

Is it just me? The first article title on the cover is "GREAT ABS", but I don't think the chickie's abs are all that great. With her shorts down that low and the light/shade emphasis on her belly, she looks kinda preggers.
Ah, and I found the little footnote about the alternate cover.

Knot, that was my first thought when I saw the female - who the heck could bike with shorts that low?? I thought the guy was built pretty solid on the upper body to be a cyclist though. JMHO.

That was my first thought when I got that issue in the mail. she must ride VERY upright.
I don't even like sitting in a chair with pants that low!

no, you can wear low-rise shorts that low in front and still have crack-coverage to the rear, I think... look how low her hip-bones are. I think she shorts were pulled down a bit to reveal more of her abs, but just the same, probably not too much.
i just had to laugh!! i got my mag a week ago and looked at that cover -- i must admit i enjoyed looking at the "airbrushed man" -- and then I saw the woman and wondered what it was about that picture that bothered me ... i couldn't put my finger on it ... thinking maybe i just enjoyed the man photo too much!![]()
BUT no, it is not the man, but the shorts on the woman ... that is IT!

had to laugh ... NEVER would have figured that out on my own!![]()

The might be PI's - I have an older pair that is cut, well, strangely. They are really low in the front (maybe not quite as low as hers.....), but they do go up far enough in the back to not show any skin between shorts and shirt. It's definitely not the most comfy cut for shorts - I want to keep pulling them up....
I also note that they (the shorts) have a very short inseam (they look kind of like PI sugar shorts) - which also can be quite uncomfy - if the leg gripper rubs your saddle.... ick. Meant to look cute and not leave the typical cyclist tan line- or rather at least leave it higher up, but not the most comfy for long rides.

I think the pic where she's wearing the blue and white top is much odder looking than the one where she's wearing the black top.
In the blue and white top photo she really looks pregnant. I'd say 3 or 4 months along.
The shorts: in the blue-and-white, Shebeest Nirvana shorts
in the black: Exte Ondo Elda shorts

No, really, look at how they airbrushed her transversus abdominus vs the rectus. Between that and the low shorts, her belly looks very odd! In the other picture, they did a much better job of airbrushing.
