Z, I've heard lots of raves for the Selle An-Atomica, you should give it a try !

I signed Lee & me up for the 200K, but it sounds like Lee is going to opt for the 100 mi or the metric instead. He's having second thoughts about this long-distance thing...

Right now I need to get my base built...again. I'm sure my average speed is somewhere around 10 mph, on the flats! I can't keep up with you guys!

I'm hoping melissam will go, and my friends Mary and Nicole too. Looks like fun!

So far it's been mostly trainer miles for me this year, except for a few saddle break-in rides. It's all about the saddle for me on a metric - I'm trying out a Brooks now, and I might get my butt onto the Selle An-Atomica and give that a try.
Where is melissam? She should sign up.

Hopefully I'll have my bike rehabbed (new bars, brakes, shifters...) by the time this rolls around. Maybe I'll think about saddles then. The Selle An Atomica looks interesting.

Speed doesn't matter. It's about the company.

Yay! I am so glad Z and Snap are doing this!

No more doggie parades!!! (Well, I'm sure that was fun, but seriously.)

I registered for the 100K last night and today there are no more entries left. I have a cycling friend who would like to register. Does this event allow other riders to buy an entry from someone who cannot participate?
What would be the best way to try to get waiting list info, etc?
Thanks for your help and info!

    As usual - GREAT RIDE!!

I'm sorry I didn't see more folks for longer than I did - and Deanna sorry I had to run after seeing you oh so briefly at the SCBC table!

We had a great ride - and I have to say OMG I have NEVER had a better bike ride rest stop sandwich than I had here. Seriously - avocado!! What's next? Bacon? You had a choice of bread, meat, condiments (including avocado) and it was made to order (quite quickly - no huge wait) right there for you. Yum!

The only slight downer is the little patch of poison oak I must have picked up while setting my bike up against the fence at the Coleman stop (I can think of no other time I went off the road all weekend). Oh well. Small price to pay!

And for 5 of our TNT Death Ride team it was their longest ride ever. And they did great! Yay!

ETA: OH OH - I amost forgot - and I loved the warm tortillas and the cut up banana with PB on top of it at the Monte Rio stop. You could get SO fat on this ride!!! Good thing I'm a little fat already - it takes the pressure off!

    Fabulous ride!

I was nowhere near back in shape from my headcold that hung on for-ever, but I really wanted to ride at least the first part of the 200K route. I'd never been up Coleman Valley Rd before and I was told by many it was not to be missed.

It was a slog to get up to the ridge on CVR, with a couple of (thankfully brief) 20% sections. You know it's getting steep when you get the sensation that the front of your bike is about to tip up and over. gahhhh.

As I was plodding along on that last steep section I was muttering to myself This better be worth it!!.

But when I reached the top, these are the views I was rewarded with. Yeah, it was well worth it!

Thanks for posting your pictures! I did not know we had a banana chef in our midst!
