I live about 25 miles south of S.F. and am planning to buy my 1st bike. Can anyone recommend a good bike shop in the mid-Peninsula?
Thanks in advance!

We got our tandem at Bicycle Outfitters in Los Altos. We were very happy with them.

Bicycle Outfitters is very highly regarded. So is Chain Reaction, they have stores in both Los Altos and in Redwood City. Palo Alto Bicycles is smaller, but they have been great to me when I have taken my bike in for tune ups, new chain, and getting my pedals put on. They then put my bike on the trainer and tought me how to use them even though I hadn't bought the pedals there... I ended up getting a mini fit out of the deal too since as I was spinning on the trainer the girl working with me tweaked things so I was in a better position.
Good luck, and we will have to ride together some time (I am in Palo Alto)

My LBS - Shaw's Lightweight Cycles in Santa Clara - is rather old school. Not much retail, but Terry Shaw really knows his stuff when it comes to bikes and fit. They specialize in Italian bikes, Bianchi in particular.
