    I'm SO excited!

I have a 2006 Trek 1000 - bought it when I made the switch from MTB to road and (like so many others) didn't want to lay out the $$$ for a sport til I knew I was hooked.

From day one I had a problem with the FD. Had it adjusted, etc, to no avail. I totally regretted not spending the extra $$$ for a higher end bike since now I WAS hooked.

I took it into a different LBS earlier this week and he reassured me that my "girl" would be in fine working order when I came for her today. I was sceptical. I'd been down this road before and was now willing to shell out whatever it took for an upgrade.

Ladies - I'm here to say that not only is she as good as new, she's better than she ever was! I don't know how I managed to put 1300 miles on her in her previous condition.

I picked her up and not only did she LOOK brand new - absolutely SPARKLING clean, new tape, new tires.. but I couldn't resist taking her out (in the wet and muck) and HOLY COW - she shifts like buttah! Quiet as a lamb and ever so smooth. (not quite as sparkly any more though)

I can't wait for the warm weather!!! I'm so excited I just had to share it with those who "get it!"

Congratulations LiW! Now all we have to do is hope for an early spring so you can get out and really enjoy her.

I know that feeling - I have one bike that is a temperamental shifter (even though it has top of the line xt mountain bike derailleuers, etc. on it. I was thinking it would never quite be a good shifter and then I had the owner of the shop that I use here in town work on it and Voila PERFECTO! So, sometimes, it just takes a good mechanic
