Cali - I just heard myself. I am so sad....he was such a trooper. Poor guy but at the same time I am sure it's best not to put him through any more...

I was working at Santa Anita all weekend and after the latest setback, everyone was pretty resigned to his fate. It was just too much.

The Eclipse Awards - racing's equivalent to the Academy Awards - were held here last week (should have gone, but I didn't) and the whole industry was behind him. It's such a shame.

If there could be one positive to come out of all this, it's the flood of supprt and money that has come into help other injured horses like Barbaro.

    Very sad.

Well said, Blue. I am sure they have learned so much in the months that they have had Barbaro as a patient. When you think about his short life, almost 1/4 of it has been spent in pain. It is time he has no more pain...

Oh that's so sad. He was such a beautiful, courageous horse. I hate it had to end this way, I had a lot of hope for him. He'll be missed by everyone and Always a Champion in our hearts.
