Ok, can my life get any more bizzare?? I had a three hour ride scheduled today. I was 45 minutes into it when I got the call that the owner of the stray boxer had been found (see dog saga thread if you haven't already). Of course I wanted to get her back to her puppies asap, so I cut the ride short. But I knew I still needed to do 2:15 to make up for it. I decided to try for an early afternoon ride. The weather today was miserable and cold. In fact it was 40 and lightly raining during my morning ride.
So I decided to get on the trainer. I lasted 45 minutes and decided that braving the cold was better than one more second on the trainer. So I donned the cold weather gear and headed out. At least it was sunny, but there were clouds lingering around. I noticed that the mornings rain had left snow on the tops of the Estrellas. I live in the foothills of the Sierra Estrella range. Cool!!
So I'm almost done with my ride and I notice this huge cloud taking over. I think to myself "man if it rains right now it's going to hail- or snow!!!".... Not five minutes later I notice stuff floating in the air. That is when I say to myself "holy batmobile it's SNOWING!!!"..... Yes, it snowed a bit in Phoenix today.
So yes indeed, hell HAS frozen over!!!![]()
It didn't stick, and only lasted for about 15 minutes, but MAN was it cool! - no wait... It was COLD!!!
Spencer called me a "momsicle" when I got into the house. It was so cold that when I ran on the treadmill after my ride it hurt. My giggly parts seemed a bit frozen and didn't appreciate the "jostling"...![]()
But hey, I got my brick in today!
Sheesh IM training this year sure has started off with a BANG!

Ah, snow on the Superstitions.... actually, on my last trip back, we were at the rental car place by Sky Harbor and I looked up; I thought the wind was blowing dust around, but guess what? It was snowing! Of course, when I go to AZ, it snows.
Sounds like a cold ride, though. Indeed, Hell has frozen over.
