    Anyone with Fuji Experience

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I'm looking to get a new road bike - and considering a Fuji. I do lots of centuries and shorter mid week rides, want something great on big hills and fast on flats.

I was browsing the Fuji website this morning and debating some options. Anyone have good experience with Fuji's or know enough to render a good opinion?

    Thanks!

I just purchased my second Fuji. I have no regrets with my first bike. I have a Finest that has taken me many miles and given me lots of experience without problems. My new bike, just got her last week, will sit in the garage until spring and that is a 06 Roubaix. I live in hill country and wanted a triple in the front vs. a double(the new Roubaix's are all doubles) so I went on a mission to find a left over in my size. My Finest will remain as my spare, my wet weather and warm winter day riding bike so I am not buying a new one d/t problems with her. The shifting on the new bike will be a learning experience for me, my old bike I shifted one way with my brake levers and had thumb tabs for my down shifters., the new one is a combo up/down shifting on the brake levers. I had the bike on the trainer at the not-so LBS (had to drive 1 1/2 hours to get the one in my size) and had to have a quick lesson on how to shift. I could probably do okay with a double in the front, some of the other shops said the triple vs. double is over rated yada yada speel, but for the hills I would feel comfortable with the triple. I want that granny gear available if I need it. I have never tried a double so I can't say how I would feel on that..someday..maybe my next bike..I can say one thing, the "great racing seat" that came on the new bike lasted less than one minute and my stand-by seat went on..it was like sitting on a piece of sheet metal. My friend that rides with me has a WSD Fuji Finest and absolutely loves it. Hers came with a really nice WSD seat and she never had any problems. I tried the WSD didn't seem to fit me well, have been told by a lot of the shops that I am more longer torso'd than most women but the WSD bikes have some nice features. Good luck..

Fuji gives you a lot of bike for the money you spend. I bought a Fuji Provence in 2005 and found it to be a great bike and it was quite inexpensive at $900 for a 105 equipped bike. It was the first bike I've had that really fit me properly. I have since upgraded, but that is because I started racing. I've seen now that Fuji has started offering women's carbon bikes, which they weren't when I decided on the upgrade or I may have decided to stay with them.

My first road bike was a Fuji Finest-Al, and only by chance did I not buy another one when I upgraded two years ago. Have been thinking that my next upgrade will likely be back to Fuji, as I really loved that bike and never had an issue with it (unlike my current bike which has been giving me some trouble!).

I also have a Fuji Tahoe mountain bike.

Fuji has GREAT bikes that are really reasonably priced. Great bang for your buck! You have to ride them to see if it's really your ride, but I would say nothing poor about them.

    Happy shopping, and happier riding!

This is the one I'm thinking of getting. I'm graduating up from an older steel framed LeMond with a triple - like ShellyJ - I really like having the triple but if all else is good, I can compromise.
