Me and my bike... ON THE NEWS!!!!

I was at the Walk without fear rally today. I'd ridden there to show my support for the victims and disgust at the attacks. We want our bikepaths back!!! Everyone has a right to feel safe and these bastards should have their nuts ripped off for such offenses...

Anyhue, The deputy premier, The lord Mayor, The commissoner, and Jilian whiting from Channel 9's Extra and Carl Stephanovic from the TODAY program were there.

They had self defense displays and a free sausage sizzle but everyone was there for the CRIME STOPPERS tent where we were handed whistles, personal alarms etc.

Personally. I found the SAFE tent... Securing a female's environment. They're organising women's group rides. (Which I want to do!) in my area so I signed on.

Anyway. after that I jumped back on pink and took off on the 12.5km route home.

Then I watched Channel 9 news tonight.

Right at the end of the news story... THERE was me and P!nk! walking together through the park... O_O Nevermind the fact I was stuffing my face with sausage on bread from B105...

I'm trying to find the footage online as we speak and get a screen capture! But Have a feeling it might be on the today show tomorrow since stephanovic was there.

THEN found out just after another attacked occured not far from my house and ON MY COMMUTE ROUTE. and pretty much the route I have to take no matter what kind of ride I do... Scarey thought.

PS: Mel1976 did you make it in rally??? Did you walk drive or ride there?

Cool Light! Good to hear the community is getting out and showing the F&&&&&& they can't take the streets away from us.

good on you LIght! Wish i'd seen you on the news. Maybe you can contact the person who does the archiving at the station?

dont really know what to say about your commute it depends on who you are. for me, i'd probably try and find a riding buddy, and if i saw the f#$%&#$(*er i'd write down all the information i could about him right there on the spot (ie carry a pen and paper).

god i hope they get the miserable little sh#ts soon
