    Winter in the Midwest

Hi Ladies!! We're experiencing a mild winter in Ohio..YAY! In order to cope with our usual cold dreary winter, I ride on a trainer in the living room watching DVD's of old Queen Concerts....an entire spin workout can be done with Bohemian Rhapsody alone.....

With temps in the high 40's--I'm spending my outdoors time walking and hiking at a nearby metro park with trails, averaging 2-3 miles. Will this help me maintain my cycling fitness? My goal is 50 miles/week which I exceed April thru October. I'm converting at 3 mile hike on foot to a 15 mile ride (same time)....Should I be in good shape in the spring? I'm mixing my cardio with the hiking and riding on trainer. Thoughts? I'm 45 and I want to be able to survive a century ride in 2007---I've done 3 MS 150 tours.

I posted a couple of weeks ago about how we had a foot of snow and a couple of inches of ice here in Missouri. It was on the ground forever...four days out of school. And today? Suppose to be 68!?!?!?!
