    November 29th rides (Wednesday)

Yay, I get to start the thread today!

I rode my commute in to work today. I do the half commute thing (drive in, bike home, bike to work, drive home) and today it was the ONLY reason I biked. Had I had another option, I would have used it. It was totally foggy and the roads were wet from overnight rain. I added an extra blinky light and headed out. Luckily, traffic was very light so I never really feared for my life at any point.

It was wet and gross and slimy though. I have fenders, but I learned today that the front one needs to extend futher forward to really protect me. By the time I was half-way, I had to wipe off my light and my computer because they were covered with road crap! Then I hit the area where there is a lot of construction and the mud on the roads made a total mess of me and my bike! I was never so happy to get to work and get in the shower! My coworkers were pointing and laughing (sort of). What an adventure!!

Fourteen degrees on the ride in this morning and I was toasty! Okay, my chin got a bit chilled, but I had enough layers on to make the ride quite tollerable for everything else. This is something my coworkers don't seem to understand. They think it is cold out and I am some sort of an idiot for riding my bike in the conditions. I want to ask if they go skiing, or snowmobiling, or out to play with the kids in the snow. You properly dress for those conditions, don't you? It is the same with cycling.
