Hi. Its 3:30pm and no one has started this yet today! I just got back from a lovely 65 mile ride. First we rode to the club ride, did the club ride, rode to a micrbrewery for lunch and rode home. Beautiful sunny day. A bit of a chill when we left the house, but mid 70s by mid day. Only problem was there were a lot of dogs out Finally worked out the set-back on my brooks saddle, and felt both good and powerful.

Rode a little over 25 miles, Acton, Boxborough, Harvard, Stow. It was about 50 degrees out, not as sunny as I had hoped, but for once I was dressed right. I felt good and was able to keep my average a bit over 15.
    Going for a hike tomorrow.

Well, I'm back pretty late 'cause I did 100 miles and not particularly quickly because I did it with different groups so there was a fair amount of down time. It was a little breezy (15 mph) and 35 to 43 degrees and almost always grey and dismal. Still a nice ride!!! Decided that it's sthat extra ten pounds that's slowing me down now, since my LBS fixed me up really nicely Friday with cable replacements and lots of lubrication for very, very cheap Gotta bake 'em cookies!! (I offered to do smoothies in the spring if they want a promo...)

Hey, it adds onto those TE mileage totals at Bike JOurnal!

I got a nice little ride in today as well. But almost got lost! I decided to explore and took off on some back roads and bout a hour later i started looking for tall land markers to find the main road. Kinda had me worried for a little bit there.

Floyd Landis at el Tour de Tucson

did 109 miles saturday in the huge el tour de tucson. 8158 riders in a mass start!! floyd was there (not riding) with robbie ventura. what an ovation from the assembled riders when floyd was introduced on the starter's podium! gorgeous day in the 80's, traffic-controlled, food/water about every 5 miles, great production, good time.

    Hi all

    I've just found this thread.

Today I went out to do a particular route. In the end I did a different route. I've decided that that's a more positive way to see it than to say that I got lost. when I got home I studied the map and realised that I was where I thought I was, rather than where I had planned to be.

However, the route I found was great. I was in the hills on my road bike and I was free and happy. When I cycled back I just flew down the hills. There was snow on the peaks (I live in Scotland) and it was so beautiful and life felt good.

So in future I will try to remember that often there is no such thing as getting lost, it's just a case of changing your mind about the route you're going to take...

    Here's to freedom...

    xx

I also did El Tour. Got to see FL from the middle of the slivers, and got 109 in. Was not thrilled with the risky-ness of my fellow riders, though. Good thing I stayed out of Gold.
