    November 10 Rides

Wonderful warm day here in the east. I rode in to work first time this week (and last time this week, seeing as how it's Friday). Had to stop and remove my knee warmers, arm warmers, and full-fingered gloves it got so warm. Traffic was very light due to the holiday. Hope everyone else has a fun ride today, especially those on holiday. Cheers.

I rode yesterday for 15 miles. First time I have ridden in a month. Between life responsiblities, the rain and wind and waiting for my muddy road to dry up, I have not been able to. It felt so good. I took my time, didn't get in a hurry or even try to push real hard. I just rode with no particular goal in mind.
It made me feel so FREE. The wind was even blowing pretty good and I hate riding in the wind, but I didn't even think anything about it yesterday.
I guess I really needed that ride.
I have been cooped up in the house doing my pilates work out tapes and it's getting really boring. I miss my bike.
Think I will try to get one in today sometime too.

I got in 15 miles too, started with a lesser amount, but felt good, so I wound up doing more

Rode my commute in. It's my first am commute since the time change and I loved that it wasn't so dark! I thought I was enjoying it because of the light...but I'd forgotten about the holiday. I think I must have enjoyed the lack of traffic, too! Oh, and it was unseasonably warm as well.

I did discover that my HRM/cyclo computer is wigging out on me. Either I screwed something up when I put on my fenders, or the battery is going. I'll have to investigate this weekend.

Did my now "usual" 21 mile ride this morning, and yesterday morning as well. The weather has been ok- cloudy but in the 50'sF so quite tolerable. It was good!

Road 10 miles today. Real windy out today, but I headed into it from the start that way I could have a nice push all the way home. LOL

It was only 10 miles but it was good. I have to much to do today and didn't have time for anything much longer than that. Especially with the wind slowing me down.
It sure has been nice the last couple of days.

Did a 30 mile club ride today. The weather was perfect, especially since i didn't have to work! I was the sweep for the ride, which was good, since I'm not sure I could have kept up with the front group. The bad thing was that there was a woman there, who i have ridden with before, during the summer. She just got a nice Specialized bike, clipless pedals, after riding a bike from the 80s. Well, I remembered that she had kind of bad road skills, but she could keep up with me on the flats (she kept trying to pass me on one ride), but died on the hills. She was having a very hard time with the new shifting system, what gears to use, etc. At one point we were going 10 mph on a flat... but I stayed behind her until the very end, trying to encourage her. She's been riding longer than me and it seemed like she was having more trouble than she should. She did fine with the clipless, but was definitely in the wrong gear a lot of the time. Anyway, at tabout 25 miles, I booked past her on the hills and then stopped and waited for her a few times. My right knee was beginning to hurt from being in the big ring so much.
Still, it was a gorgeous day, making me long for next fall when I will be able to ride whenever I want.

Beautiful Day for a New Bike!

Yup - bugged out early today to take advantage of the great weather we're having in New England, and to give my new steed a test run. Ended up with 36 miles on my new carbon Kestrel - it was SWEET!

Great weather, new bike, riding in the daylight, what could POSSIBLY be better?

    LOL!

Still overtrained, but couldn't resist the combination of beautiful weather and a new ride... Have you ever noticed that we're all just big children? We know that we shouldn't do something, but go ahead and do it anyway????

    p.s.
V - this week is a rest week
