Hi ladies! I may just have a minute. DD donated the laptop for a few moments.
I am doing so much better. i may get to go home tomorrow.
Your well wishes have touched my heart. DH had printed out some repsonses early on, but had to return to his work whichi is out of town. My parents have come into town to help for now.
My chest tube is out and the spot on my lung is holding its' own It never di go away but they are hopeful that if it at least holds its own for now that it will eventually resolve itself.
I don't think tha I have time for complete details so i'll try to answer a few questions first.
I don't know that I was going 30 mph. I would have guessed 25 mph. I'm assuming that DH got that info from some one at the scene. I need to fiddel with my computer and see if it reads a top speed for the day.
I'lll give quick details about the wreck first and then fill in some more info if I have time.
I was riding with a group of 4. We had just turn left onto a road that sloped downward and to the left. It was one of those roads that was deceptively steep. meaning it didn't look that steep but it was. we even discussed that it was. It was a rural country road, a two lane and not a car in sight.
We had paired off into twos. two pairs of two riding abreast. I was talking bikes with the older gentleman that I was riding with and he was telling me about his bike. I glanced down at his bike and when I looked up I realized that I was uncomfortably close to the edge. the pavement was fairly new asphalt and was raised about 2 inches above the shoulder wich was loose gravel. My front wheel was a little squirrilly (it that a word?) but i told myself take it easy and ease out of this. i thinkthat I could have pulled out of it but then I hit some gravel that had been kicked out onto the asphalt. I think that then my back wheel slipped off the road onto the shoulder and I steered toward the road just slightly. then we (the bike and I) lept up off the road in a sideways motion. we decided that a roll was the motion that we should try for. I believe that God wrapped His arms around me turned us
